Santa Clarita Ballet Company presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Twelve Dancing Princesses, two beautiful one-act ballets.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the famous Shakespearean comedy set to the gorgeous music of Felix Mendelssohn, and choreographed by our artistic director, Carol Guidry. This whimsical comedy follows four young lovers, a group of amateur actors, and a realm of mischievous fairies – all set in the woods where utter chaos ensues.
The Twelve Dancing Princesses, based on the classic Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale, is choreographed by Tawny Clement. This ballet follows 12 princesses as they repeatedly sneak out to the coastal forest to dance the night away and meet woodland, meadow and sea creatures. The children from Santa Clarita Ballet Academy will join our Company members on stage to a delightful musical score, intricate choreography, and comedic narration.
